Learn the key elements of landscape design from a New Mexico xeriscaping expert. Hunter will take you on a tour of projects that illustrate the principles used to create sustainable, colorful waterwise landscapes.  Presented by Hunter Ten Broeck; founder of Waterwise Landscapes Inc, designing colorful water efficient landscapes in New Mexico for over 20 years.

Spend the day at High Country Gardens beginning at 10:00am with Bill Jackel presenting "Practical and Easy Container Gardens" At 2:00 pm Bob Ross will present "Container Planting:  Beautiful & Bountiful". Bill Jackel, Bernalillo Production Manager and container garden expert.  And Bob Ross is a local Landscape Architect & Garden Consultant. Both garden experts will be on site to personally help with container garden design ideas.  We’ll even have "container potting bar" to build your gardens on the spot.  View special plants, pottery and displays of indoor and outdoor containers.

We proved it can be done in an old parking lot at Santa Fe Greenhouses. Greg Tickle will show you how, step by step, using the same seeds, soils, and plants sold in our greenhouses. Presented by Greg Tickle, landscape architect, greenhouse manager, and gardener.

The Smart Way to Reduce your Lawn

The good news is that you can enhance your landscape and limit your lawn turf.  This essential workshop will cover how to replace your turf with eco-friendly lawn grasses, flowering plants and natural materials. Learn about low water lawn grasses that give you the lush lawn look with a fraction of water needed to stay green. David will discuss the best way to start down the path of less lawn, more flowers and future water savings. Presented by David Salman, President and Chief Horticulturist for High Country Gardens.

The Best Plants & Advice for New Mexico Gardens

The planting season is under way and we are excited to help you create beautiful gardens and landscapes this spring.  The plants are growing, our gardening seminars begin again in September and we are continuing to expand the facilities at our new full service garden center and nursery.

Our greenhouses, just 15 miles north of Albuquerque in Bernalillo, are growing all the wonderful annuals, exclusive perennials and roses that will be fresh and ready-to-plant. Here at the store, we are finishing putting up a huge new greenhouse for you to shop container garden plants and other fabulous flowers.  Michael and Kathy are bringing in top quality fruit trees from our Corrales partners and flowering trees from Oregon.
